1. Contract + Retainer
Your wedding is officially protected on my calendar
Once your contract is signed and the retainer is paid, your wedding date becomes fully reserved. I intentionally take on a limited number of weddings each year so I can give every couple a more personal experience instead of making anyone feel like “just another booking.”
At this point, you are no longer simply an inquiry — you are now one of my couples.
One of the biggest stress points couples talk about online is feeling unsure about vendor reliability after booking. A lot of trust is built immediately through professionalism, clarity, and responsiveness. Wedding photographers and couples alike consistently mention that clear expectations and communication early on create confidence long before the wedding day even happens.
What happens immediately after booking:
- You’ll receive a signed copy of your contract
- Your invoice/payment confirmation
- A full onboarding experience
- Clear communication on what happens next
- Direct access to me for questions and planning support
Why this step matters so much
Booking a photographer is honestly a leap of trust. You’re trusting someone to document memories that can never be recreated. Because of that, I believe transparency matters a lot.
You’ll always know:
- what’s happening next
- when to expect communication
- delivery timelines
- payment schedules
- what I need from you
- what you can expect from me
A lot of horror stories couples share online come from unclear communication or lack of expectations before the wedding even begins. My goal is to make sure you never feel left in the dark throughout this process.
My approach moving forward
I try to create an experience where you feel:
- supported
- informed
- comfortable
- prepared
- genuinely cared for
Not overly micromanaged.
Not abandoned after booking.
Just guided well.
